Beauty Talk: Best Mascaras

Beauty Talk: Best Mascaras

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I’ve recently gotten a TON of questions about what mascaras I use sooo I figured it was time to write a whole post on my favorites. I’m a mascara junkie – I loveee it and probably own WAY too many, but I’m OK with it! Today I’ll share what I’ve been using recently that I’ve been loving!

Beauty Talk: Best Mascaras

1. Stila Huge Extreme Lash: This has been my latest obsession and I absolutely love it. It’s great not only for lengthening but for providing volume as well. I also love using black mascara and I feel like this one is super black. It’s a very wet formula so it’s great for someone who loves to add a lot of layers (me!). The only downfall with this mascara is that it’s messy! Whenever I close the tube there’s ALWAYS mascara on the outside and it creates quite the mess.

2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: I always feel SO funny when people ask me what mascara I’m wearing and I have to tell them it’s called “Better Than Sex.” But seriously, this stuff is GOLD. I love layering this mascara on top of the Stila Huge Extreme Lash. This one is also a pretty wet formula so it’s great for layering. You can let the Stila mascara dry a bit and then go ahead and apply this one on top after. Both mascaras are great on their own but I personally love the combination of the two!

3. Benefit They’re Real Lengthening Mascara: Ok guys this one has been a tried and true favorite for YEARS now. And I’m sure you’ve heard all about it from other people BUT let me tell you how I use this mascara. In my opinion, this one is great for lengthening and getting rid of any clumps that may have formed. I usually apply this one after the Too Faced one (I know, seems so high maintenance and it kind of is! lol). I don’t always apply this one but if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll do the extra step. I’ll also use this one on my bottom lashes. I feel like the previous two mascaras I mentioned are too thickening to use on my bottom lashes so I usually use this one! I love this mascara too because of the applicator. It has a ball on the end of it that helps reach those tiny lashes that you can’t typically reach with a normal applicator.

4. Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer: I feel like lash primers are often overlooked and I wish people realized the beauty of them! I’ll be honest – I rarely use one but when I do, I use the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer. This is so great for lengthening your lashes BEFORE you even put mascara on. You apply this – it looks funny because it’s white – and then you apply your mascara right on top! It really works wonders and I highly recommend using this for someone who doesn’t have the longest lashes. It makes a world of a difference!

5. Tarte Mandater: Another great name for a mascara if you ask me! This one is another favorite that I’ve been loving recently. First of all, the packaging is SO cute. Also this mascara is another great one for lengthening! I’ll use this one the same way that I use the Benefit one. It’s great on it’s own if all you’re looking for is lengthening and a bit of volume, but I think it works best when layered on top of another mascara!

Ulta Haul

Ulta Haul

Hi everyone! In today’s post I’m sharing my latest Ulta haul with you! Enjoy!

So this weekend (Saturday) is my sister’s wedding! I cannot believe that it is already HERE! I feel like we have been waiting so long for this day (I can only imagine how SHE feels!) Anyways, being the Maid of Honor, I have some important jobs that day! One of those jobs includes making sure that everyone’s hair and makeup stays lookin’ good! So I decided to stop at Ulta and buy some new products that I’ve heard great things about.

Not only did I buy new products, I also put them to the test last night at dinner. I filmed a video using the products (some new, some old) and I tried to give my honest first impressions on the products. I will list all the products in the video description and below the video in this post! Take a look at my latest video here:

GET READY WITH ME!

Step One: Makeup Forever Primer
Love this stuff! I wanted to use a primer for this makeup look because I know I’ll be using one on the day of my sister’s wedding.
Step Two: Too Faced Born This Way Foundation My usual foundation. If you’ve watched my videos before, then you know I love this stuff. I’m in the color “Warm Beige.” I applied it with my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush that I recently purchased and already LOVE.
Step Three: It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness this product is a favorite of mine. I use it for my acne scars and any flare ups that I have. I blended this with my Sigma brush as well!
Step Four: Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer in the color “Light” – this was a new product for me! It is very liquidy and easy to blend. I used my beauty blender to blend it in! I think for the summer I need to go one shade darker than the one I used.
Step Five: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in the shade “Light to Medium.” For my under eyes, I use the yellow shade of this palette. Love it!
Step Six: It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Anti-Aging Powder This was a new product as well! I have always used my Benefit finishing powder, but I wanted to try a new one! I love It Cosmetics products because of their anti-aging benefits. So far I am happy with this powder! I used my It Cosmetics Travel Brushes to apply the powder!
Step Seven: Nars Laguna Bronzer the palette that I used in the video is unfortunately sold out! But I’ve linked the individual bronzer that I used in the palette for contouring! Love this stuff!
Step Eight: Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer I added some more bronzer after I contoured just to warm up my face. Tarte Park Ave Princess has been one of my current favorites!
Step Nine: Nars Blush Again, the palette I used was sold out, but I’ve linked a super similar one with GORGEOUS colors! I love all Nars’ blush!
Step Ten: Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in the color “Gilded Honey.” I have heard SO much about this highlighter it’s about time that I tried it for myself! And I love it!! It’s so pigmented and such a nice highlight color. I recommend this product!
Step Eleven: It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil I was pleasantly surprised by this product! I wasn’t expecting to like it, but it actually was very easy to use and I like the color of it! I want to purchase this product in the full size!
Step Twelve: Nars Via Veneto Eyeliner If you’ve watched my videos before, you know I love this eyeliner. It’s my go-to eyeliner always.
Step Thirteen: Tarte Lip Kit Lip Liner I’m not a big user of lipliner but I figured now would be a good time to try it out! I really liked this one by taste!
Step Fourteen: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in the color “Dolce.” LOVE THIS. This was my first time using this and I really like it. I think this will be the color that I wear on my lips Saturday at my sister’s wedding!
Step Fifteen: First Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist I am a big fan of hydrating mists and this one seems like it’s going to be great! The only bad thing that I have to say about it is that it does have a citrus-y scent. It is nice and refreshing though!

If you guys have ANY tips for being Maid of Honor or a Bridesmaid in a wedding PLEASE let me know in the comments!! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

There ya have it! A look at my latest Ulta Haul! I hope you enjoyed!

April Wednesday Wishlist

April Wednesday Wishlist

Hi everyone! Welcome to my April Wednesday Wishlist!

I’m back with yet ANOTHER wish list! I add things to my wish list every single day (you could say I have a problem!) This month a lot of the things that are on my wish list have to do with makeup, jewelry, and shoes. I have ALWAYS loved jewelry (who doesn’t, right?) and recently I have become obsessed with trying out different makeup brands and products. Here are some of the products on my wish list this month:

From left to right: Bauble Bar Earrings // Benefit Hoola Zero Tanlines // JCrew Romper // Urban Decay Bronzer // Quay Sunglasses // Striped Dress // Ugg Wedges // Benefit Cheek Palette

Makeup: I have heard so many great things about this Benefit Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer and I really want to try it out this summer. I have a bunch of events coming up (as I’m sure a lot of you do too) and I definitely would rather not have tanlines. I feel like this product will be perfect for adding a touch of color to your body without looking fake! Another makeup item that I want to try is the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer. I have never tried an Urban Decay bronzer before, and I am looking for a new bronzer! Now onto palettes – I am a sucker for blush and this Benefit cheek palette is just calling my name! I love the colors and they are FULL size products and the whole palette is only $56. Amazing. Another palette that I want to get my hands on is the Hourglass Illume Sheer Color Trio. I love hourglass products and I feel like this palette will be a great addition to my makeup collection.

Clothes & Accessories: These Bauble Bar earrings are so fun and I’m crushing on turquoise right now! I love the style of these and the color combination – I think they’ll be perfect for summer! This JCrew romper is right up my alley. I love how its simple because I can pair bright and bold accessories with it! I think it would look super cute with this jean jacket. Let’s just take a moment to admire this dress. The colors. The style. EVERYTHING about this dress is amazing. It’s in the higher price range, but I feel like a dress like this is worth the investment. It comes in another color too!

Did you know that Uggs made sandals? I had no clue! When I saw these wedges I was so surprised to see that they were made by Ugg! I love them and I feel like they will be super comfy. They’re the type of wedge that you can wear with anything (like the black romper or striped dress!) and they will look good. They also won’t break the bank – they’re reasonably priced! Ok let’s talk about this Bauble Bar necklace. My cousin actually texted me earlier saying she wanted a choker necklace – and I think I found the perfect one! This one comes in a few colors and is super girlie and cute. I love it and I think anyone can pull it off!

Now for the last two products on my wish list (I am dying for both of these!)These sunglasses have been on my wishlist for a while now. I don’t know why I don’t just buy them – they are only $50! I think they’re SO unique and so cool, and I have a weakness for sunglasses, I seem to want them all (yikes!!). And last but not least, this David Yurman bracelet is seriously screaming my name. I am hoping to get it for graduation (hint, hint!) or I will save up for it! As you may know, I always have a stack of bracelets on, and this one will go perfectly with all of my other accessories!

WOW this was definitely a long post! I hope you enjoyed my April Wednesday Wishlist! What’s on YOUR wish list this month??

Thanks for reading!

2015 Beauty Favorites

Hi everyone! Yesterday I posted my everyday 2015 Favorites and today I am sharing my 2015 Beauty Favorites! I hope you enjoy!

Mascara

I found the BEST mascara combination this past year and I have been using them ever since. I love combining Benefit Roller Lash and Urban Decay Perversion. They make my lashes look so thick and long! I love both of these mascaras.

Urban Decay Perversion // Benefit Roller Lash

Here are two examples of what my eyelashes look like when I used both of those mascaras :-).

The Beauty Blender

The Beauty Blender has changed the way I apply my makeup. This invention makes it SO much easier to blend foundation and concealer. It saves so much time in the makeup process and I really love it. Make sure if you have it or plan to get it, that you use it DAMP. That’s key with the beauty blender.

Palettes

I have recently become obsessed with buying palettes. I think they’re great because you get so many different products all in one. They’re great for traveling and just to have! I have fallen in love with a few palettes this past year: the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Nars Steven Klein Cheek Palette, & the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette. All of these palettes have quickly become a favorite of mine because of their quality and their beauty.

Brows

I never used to fill in my eyebrows until this year. I didn’t realize how important your eyebrows truly are! They can really change a makeup look and complete it! I started using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes in the “Brunette” color. While this palette comes with different products, I really only use the powder. This powder is the perfect color for my brows & it’s SO easy to apply. If you’re a beginner at filling in your brows, I recommend this product!

Foundation & Concealer

I LOVE my Makeup Forever HD Foundation! I started using this in the beginning of the year and it has been my go-to ever since. I’ve tried many other foundations, but this one is my favorite! As for concealer, I love Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I use this one for any spots on my face. For under my eyes, I have been obsessed with Mac Prep + Prime Highlighter. This stuff really helps with my dark circles – so if you have dark under eye circles, I recommend this product for you!

Bronzer & Powders

I apply two different finishing powders on my face. I like to use Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for my under eyes. For the rest of my face I like to use Benefit Hello Flawless Powder. Both of these are great powders! My current favorite bronzer is It Cosmetics Vitality Glow Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer. It’s the perfect color for me and I love how there’s so much of it. I’ve had it for a year and I’m just finally hitting pan. This stuff is so great!

It Cosmetics Bronzer

Brushes

I have a few favorite brushes. For Bronzer, I always use Eco Tools’ Domed Bronzer Brush. This is the SOFTEST brush ever. I love how big it is because it makes applying bronzer so much easier & quicker. For blush, I use Eco Tools’ Precision Blush Brush. Again, such a soft brush! For highlighter, I use yet another Eco Tools product: their Deluxe Fan Brush. This is great for applying highlighter evenly and lightly. The Eco Tools brushes are SO affordable – I highly recommend checking them out! For powder, I use It Cosmetics’ Unstoppable Powder Brush. Another super soft brush that’s great quality!

Favorite YouTube Channels for Beauty

A 2015 Beauty Favorites post wouldn’t be complete without my favorite YouTube beauty channels! I get most of my inspiration from the people I watch on YouTube, so I thought I’d share a few favorites with you.

Alexandrea Garza has quickly become one of my FAVORITE YouTubers to watch! I love her channel – she has the best makeup looks & I love how she also has some lifestyle videos. FYI – She’s trying to get to 500,000 subscribers by her birthday (Jan 1) so go subscribe – you won’t regret it!!

Jaclyn Hill is another favorite of mine. I know I’ve talked about her before, but I couldn’t not mention her here! She’s hilarious and beautiful and she creates some amazing makeup looks. Check her out!!
