Hi everyone!! Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day! I’m so excited because today I’m talking all about Athleisure with Athleta! I’m hosting an event at the Greenwich, CT Athleta on Saturday, June 3 from 12-2. If you’re in the area you should definitely come and say hi!! I’d love to meet all of you and show you all of the amazing pieces Athleta has right now!
I went to the store last week and got to try on some of their clothes and I fell in love with all of it! Honestly, I had NO idea that Athleta had more than just workout clothes, but they’ve got it all. They have bathing suits, lounge wear, sneakers and sandals, dresses, and so much more!!
I tried on these pants and immediately fell in love with them. The material is super soft and easy to move around in. Perfect for lounging around or for any workout! I know I’ll be wearing them to Barre all the time! I also didn’t know how amazing Athleta’s sports bras are! It was my first time trying one on and like the pants, I had to take it home with me!
I also went home with the comfiest sweater I’ve ever worn! I love this because it has pockets and it has a magnetic closure which I think is so cool! Lastly, I took this tank home with me. I think the color is so fun and vibrant and perfect for summer! I’ll have all the sizing details below!
There’s so many other items that I have my eye on at Athleta right now. I saw this bag in the store and fell in love with it! It’d be perfect for carrying your clothes to and from the gym. Lately I’ve been having to change when I get to the gym and I’ve been looking for a new bag to transport everything in! They also sell S’Well water bottles which I had no idea!! They also have a great selection of shoes to choose from!
I actually saw this dress in the Free People store that just opened up in town. I immediately knew I had to have it for my upcoming trip to Florida. I’m so glad I made that purchase because it’s quickly become one of my favorite dresses!
Let me tell you why you need this dress. One – it has POCKETS. That’s always a game changer for me. If a dress has pockets I’m 99% more likely to buy it. Two – the color of the embroidery is so fun and bright and perfect for Spring and Summer. Three – it’s SO comfortable and easy to wear. You literally just put it on and that’s that. I feel like it’s perfect to throw on after the beach or if you’re going out at night! Four – Off the shoulder dresses and tops are very trendy right now and I feel like this dress is a great option for that trend!
I paired this dress with my Tory Burch flats to keep it a casual look. We attempted to take pictures at the beach, but none of them came out well at all. It was SO windy!!! I think that this dress would also look great with a pair of wedges too!! As for sizing, I’m wearing a size Small and it fit great! I probably could’ve gotten away with an XS but I’m all about comfort. I would say this dress runs TTS!
I hope you guys can get your hands on this dress before it sells out again!!
There ya have it! A look at my Free People embroidered dress!
Happy Tuesday!! This post is going up later than usual but I’ve had a busy week already (how is it not Friday yet?!) Today I’m sharing another look from Fort Lauderdale. I found this one shoulder gingham dress and I fell in love! I’ll be honest – my friends saw this dress on the hanger and didn’t love it at first. However, once I put it on, they changed their minds! This is one of those dresses that will look SO much better on than it does on the hanger.
Anyways, I love this dress because it’s different than any other gingham item of clothing that I’ve seen. I love how it’s peplum at the bottom AND one shoulder. It’s unique and I love that about it. It’s also fairly reasonably priced – under $80 – which I think is a good price for a great quality dress. I’m wearing mine in a size Small and it fit comfortably! I would say this dress is TTS and a little bit on the shorter size! It was SUPER windy in Fort Lauderdale so keeping these dresses down was a bit tricky, but I don’t think I flashed too many people (lol!).
If you haven’t seen my review of where we stayed in Fort Lauderdale, be sure to check it out here!
There ya have it! A look at this gingham one shoulder dress! I hope you enjoyed this post!
Hi everyone!! Happy Friday!! I’m finally getting a post up all about my trip in Turks & Caicos! I’m going to share details on where we stayed, ate, and what we did each day & night! I have to say that this has been my FAVORITE place in the Caribbean that we’ve been so far (I’ve been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, the Bahamas, and Barbados). Let me tell you why!
Where We Stayed
^^A few pictures of the Resort & the area!
We stayed at the Ports of Call Resort in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. We were very happy with our stay there! We booked our trip through JetBlue Getaways and we got a great deal. The hotel is a small family owned resort and it is super affordable compared to all of the other resorts on the island. The staff was super friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the owner of the resort was there to greet us and that was a nice added touch. They had a bar that opened around 1 every day. They had a happy hour and the drink prices were reduced by $1 (which isn’t that great of a deal, if you ask me). They also held events for the hotel guests (a trivia night to get to know the owners, etc.) They provided beach towels for you and they also have their own private section on the beach with beach chairs and umbrellas. There were also many different activities included that we could have done such as, kayaking, sailing, etc.
Here are some pros and cons of the resort:
It is a family owned resort
It’s a small resort – we liked this because it was easy to navigate
It was a close walk to the beach (less than 5 minutes)
It was a close walk to many shops and restaurants
They had a very friendly staff
The room we stayed in was very comfortable – we had two queen beds and there was a sitting area.
Close walk to the Graceway Market
Breakfast was included but we were definitely not a fan of it (we opted to walk to the market most mornings and get something from there)
The room where breakfast was served often had a strong smell that wasn’t pleasant.
There was no elevator (this could be tricky if you were staying on one of the upper floors) However, their staff would gladly bring your luggage up to your room for you!
Our TV in our hotel room didn’t work – this was fine because we weren’t in our room much anyway, but this may be an issue for someone else!
Overall, we would go back and stay at the Ports of Call Resort. We loved it and it was worth the price! I’d recommend staying here for sure if you’re looking for a great deal and a great stay!
Where We Ate
Sooo I’m not that into food but my mom is. I didn’t really care where we ate but she wanted to find a place that would have a healthy option for us. Like I said before, we’d often walk to the Graceway Market (across the street from the resort) to get certain items. However, one morning my mom got breakfast from there and she found an egg shell in her eggs (gross!) I’ll go into a little more detail on where we ate and what I’d recommend.
Monday: For our first night on the island we decided to eat at Via Veneto. This was a delicious Italian restaurant that was a 1 minute walk from our resort. It’s a great option because you can sit right outside OR you can sit inside. The service was great – our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, too! We were able to make a reservation for this restaurant online which was a nice touch.
Tuesday: For our second night we tried to find a certain restaurant but we ended up eating at the Solana restaurant at the Ocean Club West resort. The menu was pretty limited but keep in mind, I’m a very picky eater! I ordered a burger and it was really good! My mom got some sort of fish meal probably.
Wednesday: On Wednesday we walked about a mile down the road (it’s very safe in Turks & Caicos, we didn’t mind walking alone at night!) to a restaurant called Hemingways. We made a reservation for this place and it was well worth it. It was RIGHT on the water – it was dark by the time we got there but it was still SO nice. I recommend going to this restaurant around sunset because it would be absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed Hemingway’s.
Thursday: On Thursday we ate at a restaurant called The Deck. This restaurant is literally right on the beach. It’s apart of the Seven Stars Resort. We LOVED this place and we were upset that we didn’t find it until later on in our trip! On Thursday night it started POURING rain on us and the waiters were SO good about it. They brought us towels and umbrellas so our meals wouldn’t be disturbed (see the picture of my mom above! Lol!) I do have to mention that we came to this restaurant for lunch two times during this trip. It’s the perfect place because you’re still on the beach but you’re able to enjoy your lunch. We highly recommend The Deck!
Friday: On our last night we decided to go back to Via Veneto because we loved it so much! We wanted to stay somewhere close to our resort because we knew we had a long day of traveling the next day. We had such a great experience our first night and the second time we went didn’t disappoint.
What We Did
This trip was meant to be a super relaxing vacation and it definitely was! Each morning my mom and I would wake up and we’d go for a 2-3 mile walk on the beach! This was so much fun and such a great way to start each day. We didn’t want to not exercise while we were away, so this was a great alternative to us! Who doesn’t love a walk on the beach??
Each day we’d go to the beach and we’d pretty much stay there all day. That was our goal, anyway. I cannot even describe to you how beautiful the beach and the water were in Turks and Caicos. I have told everyone this – it’s unlike any place I’ve ever been before (I’ve been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, the Bahamas, Barbados). The water is a blue that is indescribable and for February, it was a great temperature!
^^Us at Jimmy’s Dive Bar!
Every night we went out to dinner (places listed above) and afterwards when we weren’t quite ready to call it a night, we’d venture over to Jimmy’s Dive Bar. This became one of our favorite places on the island. They were so friendly and it was never too crowded (which we liked about it). We just went there and were able to talk to some locals and each other without it being a crazy scene. It was a fun place and you could tell that people who vacation there often came back all the time. We will definitely be back, that’s for sure!
WOW – LONGEST post EVER! I know that’s A LOT to take in but I hope this post was helpful! I HIGHLY recommend traveling to Turks & Caicos. We loved every minute of it! Feel free to reach out and send me an email with any questions!!
There ya have it! My Turks & Caicos Travel Guide! I hope you enjoyed!
Hi everyone! Happy Monday! My weekend FLEW by, as it always does! I definitely wish there was one more day before Monday – anyone else?? Anyways, we’re supposed to be getting a blizzard tomorrow which is crazy to me because it was 60 degrees the other day. The weather has been SO crazy. I’m not a fan of the snow so I’m going to continue to post my pictures from Turks & Caicos and pretend I’m still there in my mind (I wish!!!). Today’s post features an all white look with pops of color!
I saw this top online and I couldn’t believe the price. It’s only $47 and it was originally $110! It’s over 50% off – obviously I needed it! I knew it would be perfect to wear in Turks and Caicos. I also think it would look so cute with blue jeans, black jeans, or even colored jeans! It’s such a versatile top that will go with just about anything!
Like I said before, I love an all white look because you can do so much with accessories to add some color and excitement to the outfit. I wore my J.Crew white jeans which are my go-to white jeans always. To add color I wore some fun earrings and carried my new FAVORITE clutch. I also wore these wedges, which I’m sure you’re all tired of seeing!
