Done and Dusted
Genre: Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: I have heard SO many people rave about this series and I’m so glad I decided to start it! Clementine (Emmy) is a 4 time champion barrel racer and she recently had an accident that shakes her up. She decides to leave her life in Denver behind to go back to her hometown, Meadowlark, Wyoming. She’s too nervous to ride again and has panic attacks when she thinks about getting back on the horse. She doesn’t want anyone to know the real reason why she came back to Meadowlark so she tries her best to hide her fear and worries.
Enter Luke Brooks - former trouble maker turned bar owner who never used to get along with Emmy. When Emmy shows up back in town, Luke is immediately drawn to her even though he knows she’s off limits - she’s his best friends little sister. Emmy still remembers Luke as the troublemaker who wasn’t nice to her growing up and she refuses to believe that he’s actually changed. Luke wants to spend as much time with Emmy as he can so he offers to help her get through her fear and anxiety of riding again. Emmy doesn’t expect this from him and is pleasantly surprised to see that maybe Luke has changed after all.
This was a quick and easy read! Was it my favorite romance? No. Was it enjoyable? Yes! I loved the characters and the setting and I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series.
