Review: Charlie Donlea continues to write some great mysteries/thrillers. In Long Time Gone, we meet Sloan, our FMC, who is currently working towards becoming a forensic pathologist. She gets assigned a topic to research and study and because of that, she ends up submitting her DNA to an online genealogy site. Sloan knows that she’s adopted but she’s thrown a major curveball when the results of her DNA test come back -the results say that she is actually Charlotte Margolis - or baby Charlotte - who went missing 30 years ago. The disappearance of baby Charlotte (and her parents!) was major news back when it happened. Sloan is determined to figure out the truth behind this story - is she baby Charlotte? What happened to her birth parents? We take this journey with Sloan as she uncovers the truth behind it all.
